Take a step back in time on this driving tour led by a step-on guide from the Pomona Historical Society. One of the oldest cities in Southern California, Pomona is celebrating 100 years of heritage preservation. On a docent-guided tour of a prominent adobe, you'll see how it appeared 150 years ago, complete with the furnishing of the period that create one of the finest collections of the "early days" Also, enjoy a guided tour of the Phillips Mansion, owned in the 1890's by the "wealthiest man in L.A. County," it was saved from the wrecking ball in 1966 and has recently been restored.
In addition, experience a docent-guided tour of the American Museum of Ceramic Art- a highlight is the Mettlach Collection. This collection of steins, plaques, vases, jardinières, table wares, and more was made possible by a couple who accumulated a huge number of these renowned German pieces (dated 1840-1915) over a 30-year period and is the largest of its kind in the world! With a visit to the "Blue Ribbon Gardens" at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, admire the romanticism of this hidden rooftop gem that is in stark contrast to the vaulting and 3 waterfalls.
