The Orange County Department of Child Support Services provides professional cost-effective services to parents or caretakers of minor children. We offer Solutions for Parents including the establishment and enforcement of child support orders through exclusive enforcement tools, establishment of legal paternity through genetic testing, complete account maintenance, and exceptional customer service to assist customers every step of the way.

Our mission is to support the members of our community in their time of need, and work towards a greater good. The foundation provides children scholarships from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Children must be enrolled and a McKinney Vento active student. Clothing and food are provided every 1st and 3rd Sunday. The foundation also provides holiday meal outreach during Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

The Alliance for a Healthy Orange County is a county-wide collaborative of health care organizations, community-based organizations and universities whose mission is to champion policy strategies and leverage funding opportunities that result in enhanced health outcomes and reduced health disparities for Orange County residents. One of the goals of AHOC is to bring Prevention Fund dollars into Orange County. The Federal Government has committed $15 billion over ten years to fund prevention programs. The prevention fund dollars would provide the opportunity to bring programs to scale and support policy and environmental change efforts that would have a lasting impact on the health of Orange County.

MOMS Orange County helps mothers and their families have healthy babies by providing access to prenatal care, health screenings, infant development screenings, health education and referral services through monthly home visits and group classes. Mothers receive one-on-one education and support during pregnancy to help increase their chances of delivering a healthy baby. After babies are born, the focus turns to promoting their healthy growth and development so they grow up happy, healthy and ready to learn.

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a federal assistance program of the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), created by an amendment to section 17 of the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 on September 26, 1972. PHFE WIC began serving communities of Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernardino Countries County in 1976. Foods offered by the WIC program help supplement participants diets with key nutrients important to fetal development and adult and child health. WIC is a cost-effective program, reducing participants healthcare costs by providing healthy foods and prenatal services, improving birth outcomes, and promoting breastfeeding.

In addition, medical, dental (limited to patients of the medical clinic with chronic diseases), mental health counseling and health education are provided to Placentia residents at the Fullerton location. Colette's Children's Home provides emergency, transitional, and permanent housing to homeless single women and homeless women with children. Colette's Children's Home operates 13 shelters in the cities of Placentia, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, and Anaheim.

Casa Youth Shelter is an emergency home for homeless and runaway teens, ages 12 to 17. Shelter is also provided for teens that are at-risk for hopelessness or running away. Emergency shelter services are provided for up to 2 weeks along with individual, group, and family counseling. Our goal is to reunify the teen with the family, if safe. If not, referrals and linkage to appropriate services are provided. Aftercare counseling is encouraged once the teens exit. All services are offered on a sliding scale. No teen is turned away for an inability to pay.

H.I.S. House transition shelter was founded in 1989 by Placentia Presbyterian Church. Since its inception, H.I.S. House has been home to over 2,000 families, singles, and children. Each family lives in a private guest room, singles share a room with another single. During the four to six month program, adults secure employment and save money for permanent housing.

The McKinney Vento Act protects the rights of homeless students while they are in school. Our office ensures that students and parents are aware of their rights under the Act. We also provide food through an "urgent use" pantry, uniforms and shoes as well as backpacks and school supplies to students who are either homeless or living with friends and relatives due to economic circumstances.

Job Training and Development
Taller San Jose

Taller San Jose gives Orange County youth, ages 18 to 28, the training and skills needed to get and keep a job. Taller San Jose is a 24-month intensive program that provides hands-on training, personal development and job readiness support. Youth must submit an application; participate in an interview; pass a drug test; meet basic skills (5th to 8th grade math/reading level) requirements; and have a government ID. Youth are expected to show up every day, on time and drug free during their 16 to 20 weeks of hands-on skills training in the Office, Medical or Construction Academies.
