[ARCHIVED] Coronavirus Update - Senior Center Temporarily Closed

Placentia COVID-19 Updates

Due to the recent concerns surrounding COVID-19 (coronavirus) and in line with County, State and Federal guidelines and recommendations, the City of Placentia, in an abundance of caution, will be postponing or cancelling all non-essential City events, community gatherings and engagements involving more than 250 people, and in many cases, those with less than 250 people, until further notice. The City encourages residents and visitors to consider doing the same with their planned private events or gatherings, especially attendees which include sensitive populations.

Additionally, in an abundance of caution, the City of Placentia has announced the temporary closure of the Placentia Senior Center, beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 until further notice. Although the Placentia Senior Center will be temporarily closed, regular participants of the Senior Center Lunch Program may choose to pick-up a box lunch Monday to Friday between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Senior Center, 143 S. Bradford Avenue or enroll in the Meals on Wheels Program, starting on Thursday, March 19, 2020. Seniors without internet access are encouraged to call City Hall at (714) 993-8232 for updates between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

City Hall will remain open at this time. However, live scan services at the Police Department will be temporarily closed until further notice.  City Council and Commission Meetings will continue as scheduled, but may be altered for attendance of the public. City Council Meetings are streamed live on the City’s website at www.placentia.org/pctv.

As this is a very fluid situation, we will continue to monitor the coronavirus outbreak daily and based upon the recommendations of our County, State and Federal officials, we will take the necessary precautions and notify the public accordingly.
