Drowning Prevention

Did you know that drowning is the #1 killer of children under the age of 5 years old? Only a Momentary lack of supervision puts a child at risk. A majority of drownings occur in residential swimming pools and spas. Below please find helpful tips on how to prevent drowning.

 

Learn the ABC’s of Pool Safety 

 

  1. Adult Supervision – Assign a “Water Watcher” to watch children in and around the pool or spa.
  2. Barriers – Install a tall, non-climbable fence around the pool with a self-closing gate children can’t reach.
  3. Classes – Take CPR and rescue technique classes and have your child take swimming lessons.
