Neighborhood Services

Goal

The goal of Neighborhood Services is to provide free direct assistance to the community. We are dedicated to improving the lives of children, adults, and seniors by helping them move towards self-sufficiency through immediate aid and a variety of educational and life skill programs.

Functions

The functions of Neighborhood Services are:

  • Coordinating the implementation of solutions to neighborhood and community issues
  • Overseeing the coordination of activities including community assistance programs
  • Striving to support neighborhood empowerment activities
  • Working to strengthen neighborhoods

Methods of Assistance

The Division serves to facilitate the provision of human and social services through:

  • Providing direct service and information
  • Referring citizens to other social service agencies and local non-profit organizations

Programs and Services

Programs and services are free and include:

  • Document translation and assistance
  • Food programs both emergency and supplemental assistance
  • Information and Referrals to local agencies for programming such as:
    • Counseling services
    • Parenting Classes
    • Domestic violence intervention
    • Emergency assistance for rent, utilities, and clothing
    • Family Support- assisting families in crisis
    • Youth Tutoring programs
    • Transitional Housing
