Notice of Moratorium on Short-Term Rental Permits

On September 2, 2025, the Placentia City Council adopted Interim Urgency Ordinance No. O-2025-07, establishing a 45-day moratorium on Short-Term Rental (STR) permits pursuant to Government Code Section 65858. Subsequently, on October 7, 2025, the Placenita City Council extended the urgency ordinance until September 1, 2026, or until the City Council enacts amendments to the STR regulatory requirements, whichever is earlier. During this period, the Development Services Department will not be accepting, processing, or approving any requests for Short-Term Rentals until such time as the City Council may adopt amended processes and requirements to the existing standards.
